The Leading FFXIV Gil Seller - Uffxiv.com!

I think the reason for a lot of Free Companies dying is that FFXIV gives no reason to be social, so most people get on, never say a word, don't make bonds with people, then just quit.

I started up a FC(FFXIV Free Company) on 2.0 release

Well, I started up a Free Company on 2.0 release. We had about 100 total members with maybe 40 or so on at a time. A little before 2.1 came out and shortly after, members started dropping like flies (not just my Free Company either, a majority of them), because they realized there wasn't much to do at cap. So me and a few friends stuck around, to see if maybe it'd get better. It didn't (FFXIV 3.0 Patch is 2.0 all over again)

So slowly, my Free Company and most of the other Free Companies on my server were dropping down to about 5-10 people on total, sometimes if that. We tried to get new members, but most would join, never say a word, then either leave or quit the game entirely, usually anywhere from an hour of joining to a week. After a while we ended up with only maybe 15 members and like 5-6 on at a time. I had to take a break from FFXIV due to reasons for about a month and a good friend of 7 years convinced me to lend her Free Company leadership while I was gone, incase it was needed. Well, I get back and 2 other members had convinced her not to give it back, resulting in a huge argument and over half of the Free Company leaving with me to make a new Free Company. That now ex-friend and the two people who convinced her to do that, took all the gil and items, went to a new FC(Free Company), bought them a medium house, somehow got leader of that FC(Free Company) a few months later, stayed there, left it, it died, they joined another new one this week.

Anyways, a year later now, my Free Company has dropped down to about 2-4 people online at a time, like most Free Company on Midgard, no one's hit over 10 members on at one point. Even the big 200+ member fcs have died down to about ~10 online at one point, with a total of maybe 30 people in the Free Company

I think the reason for a lot of Free Companies dying is that FFXIV gives no reason to be social, so most people get on, never say a word, don't make bonds with people, then just quit.

Dark Knight (Final Fantasy XIV) could be a DoT damage tank

If you're designing around avoidance tanks, Random Number Generator is going to screw people over way too often. So, you're kind of pigeonholed into mitigation tanks (which all the tanks in FFXIV are).

FFXIV Questions of Othard and Geography

Of course FFXIV is still young, but the reason why we haven't yet seen a full clear official world map of Hydaelyn (and the same reason Vana'diel never had a full world map in FFXI either), probably has something to do with how new areas are added into the game

I try to take weapons and playstyle into account

Auron - Dark Knight: one handed sword, heavy attacks while also a good pool of HP. Hes also the first one to learn some "cover"-spell, which would make him a paladin... but... naaaah... he doesnt seem like one so I identify this as a tank-ability

UFFXIV: Tanks have zero positional requirements

Sure, but that requires you to bring a warrior, bard/Machinist, ninja. It might be true that most guilds have this covered. But it shouldn't mean that a Paladin/Dark Knight with FFXIV Dragoon
